THE EFFECTIVENESS OF "WHITEBOARD ANIMATION " ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAM IN SEAMOLEC
Abstract. This research aims to evaluate execution of "Whiteboard Animation" online training program in SEAMOLEC. This online training program is designed primarily for teachers, but it's also publicly accessible so anyone interested can join. Through this program, teachers are expected to be able to create and use animations to improve the quality of their own teaching.
By applying the result of the research,"Whiteboard Animation" online training program in SEAMOLEC is expected to be one of the standard reference for online- based training. Evaluation research methods are used to measure the effectiveness of the "Whiteboard Animation" online training program based on
components and characteristics of E-learning according to Badrul Khan: pedagogical issue, technological issue, interface design, resources support issue and evaluation system. The steps involved in this research are: (1) Identifying entities involved in the execution of online training program; (2) Determining components to evaluate; (3) Identifying evaluation questions; (4) Preparing evaluation design and activity schedule; (5) Gathering and analyzing data; (6) Interpreting and discussing result; (7) Reporting result. Source of data for this research are experts in media and instructional design from State University of Jakarta (UNJ), participants and administrators of the "Whiteboard Animation" online training program. The result of the research shows that instructional system component has not yet optimally developed. Several changes need to be applied to make the training program more effective. The technology used to present the e-learning is well-chosen and is implemented properly to suit the needs of participants, but there is still some room for improvements. Learning resource support has able to accommodate the needs of most participants. While evaluation of program has been done properly and routinely, there are some aspects in the evaluation of participant's learning result that can use some adjustments.
